1.1 Journées SMAI-MODE, 18-20 Mars 2026, Nice

Du 18 au 20 mars 2026, l’Université Côte d’Azur accueille les journées SMAI-MODE, la conférence biennale du groupe MODE de la Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (SMAI).

Vous pouvez soumettre vos contributions du 13 octobre au 15 décembre 2025 sur le site de la conférence. L’organisation de sessions spéciales est possible. Il vous suffit de contacter les organisateurs.

Thèmes de la conférence :
* Optimisations discrète et continue, lisse et non-lisse, déterministe et stochastique
* Calcul des variations, contrôle optimal, transport optimal et théorie des jeux
* Mathématiques de l’image, du signal, des sciences des données et de l’apprentissage automatique.
* Optimisation de formes, méthodes variationelles pour les EDPs
* Applications industrielles, en économie, en finance, en sciences sociales, en IA

Une conférence grand public sera donnée par Yann Brenier (Université Paris-Saclay, LMO).

En amont de la conférence, un mini-cours sur la thématique Performance Estimation Problems (PEP) sera organisé le 16 et 17 mars 2024.

1.2 Rencontre nationale du RT optimisation, 26-28 Novembre 2025, Lyon

Pour rappel, le RT optimisation (https://rt-optimisation.math.cnrs.fr/) organise sa première rencontre nationale à Lyon, du 26 au 28 novembre prochains. La liste des orateurs est maintenant arrêtée, il y a la possibilité de présenter un poster (et dans ce cas l’organisation peut prendre en charge les deux nuitées), et les inscriptions ferment demain.

The Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in mathematics and statistics, starting in September 2026.

We are looking for candidates specializing in mathematical, statistical and computational foundations of AI with an interest in applications in economics and social sciences.

2.2 Post-doc à Nimes

Nîmes University invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral position in mathematics, with a focus on fostering interdisciplinary collaboration with neuroscientists. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to collaborate actively with members of the MIPA team and to play a pivotal role in fostering connections between mathematicians and neuroscientists. The position then aims to initiate and advance research collaborations grounded in rigorous mathematical approaches.

The fellow will undertake two main missions:
• First, to initiate and develop collaborations on mathematical topics aligned with the areas of expertise represented within the MIPA team.
• Second, to serve as a key link between mathematicians and neuroscientists, facilitating interdisciplinary dialogue and joint projects.
The successful candidate will be strongly encouraged and supported in these endeavors and will benefit from close guidance and supervision from MIPA team members.

Details of the position
• Start date: Between November 2025 and January 2026.
• Duration: 12 months.
• Location: Nîmes University, France.

Profile of the candidate
We are seeking highly motivated researchers with a strong background in applied mathematics and a keen interest in interdisciplinary applications to neurosciences. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds are essential.
